Since Earth day is coming up I thought I'd give you a brief overview on some of the guidelines that Moms Crafts 4 U is committed to.
  • Using eco-friendly products whenever possible
  • Stationery and supplies are only used when necessary
  • Equipment is only to be powered on when in use
  • Recycling & Minimal waste are top priority
I will keep improving upon my environmental footprint wherever I am able to.

A bit about myself.....

The past few months there have been numerous customers/followers that have asked me to share some info on myself.  So, here it is...

Name: Veronica Perrin

How many etsy shops do you have? I have 4 shops, listed below

Who works for/runs the above shops? Just me

Do you work outside the home? Yes, I have 2 part time jobs (while my kiddos are at school)

How many years have you been sewing?  My mother and grandmother taught me when I was little, but I really did not get into  it until I had my own kiddos to sew for.  I can remember quilting when I was 7 or 8 years old, I am sure I was rolling the thread back & forth on the quilt more than I was quilting though.

How long have you been crafting? I think I have been crafting since I was first walking!  I can remember spilling paints on my Grandmothers rug and painting the side of the house with devil's paint brush when I was 4 or 5 years old.  Growing up I was very creative, making things with straws, wood, flowers, etc.  I have a love of all crafts & have a deep appreciation of the time and love that goes into handmade.

Favorite Fabric: Oh, that is a loaded question!  I have a love for all fabrics.  My fave to sew with is cotton woven (Quilters Cotton), but I would love to curl up into a bolt of Bamboo Velour.  So soft & yummy!

Do you sell locally?  I do sell a bit locally, but most of my sales are online.  I do some Christmas Craft shows where I sell Fleece Hats, Mittens, Scarves, Socks and numerous other small items.

Favorite Color: I can't decide between brown & purple, I love them both.

Favorite TV Shows: Grey's Anatomy, No Ordinary Family, Wizards of Waverly Place (yep, I watch it even when my kids are not here), House, Survivor

What is your pet peeve? Oh, don't get me started..... The worst one is kitchen cupboard doors being left open.  Believe me I could go on, but I won't ;o)

What is you favorite food? Chocolate, I know it's not a 'food' but I could totally eat it for one!

Enough about me.... How about my readers/followers?  Tell me about yourself!

Free Cloth Pad Anyone???? CLOSED Winner announced in comments

I don't know what I was thinking!! I put a snap on backwards so I had to take it back out... when I did it make a slight hole on the cotton (top) layer of the pad by the snap.  I do not want to sell a pad like this as it will fray a bit around the snap soooooooooo I would love to give it away.

I do not have a picture, but it is similar to these pads.... Slightly different coloration & print though

All you have to do is enter your email below & I will choose a winner through random.org on Thursday Jan. 27th, 2011.  Please only enter one time to make it fair to all.

Doing their part....

My daughters grade 3 class has been affixed to the news on the Gulf Coast Oil Spill. Being here in Canada, there is not a whole lot that anyone can do except sit & watch... so, when Craft Hope launched Project 8 I had to email my daughters teacher! Her teacher & I both agreed it would be a great way for these children to feel like they could help in some way (even if it is a small way). On Tuesday (June 15/20) the children each brought in some cotton fabric (Old t-shirts, blankets, towels, etc). Each child cut as many wash cloths and hand towels as they could, we then sewed them up & voila ready to be shipped off. (Brianna helped me finish off the rest at home) Since this is such an easy project the kids loved helping out & doing everything they could to help. Some of the children wrote messages on the cloth stating their thank yous to the many workers involved, how much they love animals etc... One little girl even told me that she wants to help keep the environment & animals clean so her kids will have a brighter tomorrow. Another boy said that the wildlife may become extinct, some species never to be brought back... amazing at 8-9 years old how much they understand about the situation..These will be shipped shortly to Kimberly Davion who will be separating them accordingly for The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies, the Audubon Nature Institute, and the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge. These amazing people will cleaning oiled dolphins, other marine mammals, sea turtles & birds. Special Thanks to Craft Hope for getting this information out for all to help!!
